The thing I love on the Washington Sports Media today is all the talk about RGIII this and RGIII that. I guess Kyle Shanny is a sacred cow that can not be discussed. The Skins didnt score more han 3 points in the second half! This has happened in every game where the Skins offense managed to score points in the first half and have a lead. And in the games where we were behind after the first half (most of them) we started to score a bunch of points in garbage time, but of course not enough to win the game. Just enough to tease and pad stats to make things not look as bad as they really are. But wasting that Running back tallent and staying comitted to gimmick plays that expose your QBs (Cousins was exposed and injured in the preseason) is not getting it done and shows the stupidity and arrogance of the Shanni. Also throw in the stupid challenges wasting time outs, as well as wasting time outs during the 2 minute drill, garbage. Let me get back RGIII, Im not going to say hes without fault. Hes making mistakes, but how many dropped balls last night, or for the season? The perfect exclamation point to the game last night and this seasons folley with the receivers was when Garcon (Mr. Security Blanket) dropped then caught/lost the last two consecutive passes RGIII put in his hands. The first would have been a first down, and the second effectively ended the Skins chances to tie the game. Im sure RGIII has little confidence in most of his WRs. The young ones are non catching wimps and the old ones are too slow to get open (89 Moss). So all he has is Garcon, the TEs and the RBs. In all, RGIII hasnt developed because the coaching staff is too inept to develop him and give him a solid game plan to wrk with. The Parcells Giants killed you with a running game and a series of short high %age throws, then gutted you with a long pass (because the safety was committed to the run or a short pass). 49ers did the similar things. I dont know how many quick slants for 7+ yards that Rice and Taylor caught. High %age and oppened things up. Also made 1st downs easier to achieve. With Kyle I see none of this. I see run the gimmick and work our QB till he breaks or is broken. Enough with the passing game, back to the running game. Its still blows my mind that when Morris drops a duce (200+ yards) on Dallas in week 17 to clinch the NFC East title, that you dont use him in the playoffs after youve built an early lead. It runs off clock, is an effective way to keep your offense out there tiring out their defense, and lets your defense rest. Lets pass instead where incompletions and running out of bounds stops the clock giving precious gametime to the other team to come back. Kyles done the same thing this year. Yes, the Skins Defense needs a lot of work, but Im sure if you check time of possession, Kyle is screwing the D and making them suck worse than they actually do. Lastly penalties! That is a sign of the Head Coach. How many penalties did Parcells teams get? Belacheat? Reid? Plays, discipline, and formations that set up players for success and not committing penalties. The Midgets only had one penalty for like half a yard last night! Shanny is garbage! So yes DC sports press, keep blaming RGIII, keep blaming the D, and keep asking for Cousins to replace RGIII. From what I saw in the preseason with Cousins getting exposed in a way to get hs ankle injured, well have the same result. The real problem is at least Kyle, if not both Shanni. As a friend told me, Dallas is dealing with these same salary cap hits too, but they were in the hunt last season and are in the hunt this season. So that excuse is BS. The problem with the Skins is deeper than the Shani, last season was an anomaly in the Snyder era of failure. Ill close my rant with this, the Midgets didnt win last night, my team wanted to suck more. Now Ill go back to complaining bout the Skins under my breath while cheering for the Ravens (the only Pro Football team that is worth a anything in the DC area since they moved here).
