The thing was arachnid for sure, yet six legs sat on the back of it and two near the head. The body of it was slim yet flat and the head was like a fin with three sunken eyes on each side. It crawled from the roof gutter down the pipe, backwards as the water rushed at it. Then I knew why it was so unique. A cousin to beach stones, it had smoothed itself out where the water touched and become more jagged at where it stood. The six back legs were to give it enough strength resist the water while the flatness of the body made it less resistant. The two front legs let it hook on and in to aid in going backwards slowly and the head was a rudder that could see on the side that the water did not hit. Unique and purposeful, yet terrifying as the two front legs seemingly act also as teeth and are strong enough to dig into sheet metal. It feeds by stabbing until the victim bleeds easy so it can drink from open wounds. I would not dare hold it, lest I get large holes on my hand. The young are placed in holes made by the teeth legs during the rainy season and are so light they float to the top when born. To survive, they must learn how to "walk" in the rain or die trying. They live for two years at a time and like some fish will change gender in order to reproduce.
