The third annual zucchini festival presented by the Emerald Rose - TopicsExpress

The third annual zucchini festival presented by the Emerald Rose Corp. will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 16 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 17 on the square in Chardon. Games, crafters, raffle, food vendors and a pancake breakfast will be part of the event. A zucchini cook-off, growing and decorating contests and a Zucchini Idol talent contest also will take place. Auditions for the Zucchini Idol contest will be from noon to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 9th at Chardon Library. Contest entry fee is $10. Proceeds from the event will benefit the capital campaign for the Emerald Fields of Troy, a planned $4 million facility serving people impaired with mental disorders – depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, pain disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorders.
