The “three-month renewal of what has been in place for the past seven years.” This is not an excuse to say it is right. Yet another chunk of our democracy stripped away by the government. But we the sheeple will do nothing about it. Most of us will keep on voting in the Dems and GOP. They jointly brought this down on us. Only truly independent and 3rd party candidates being elected en mass will have impact on restoring the notion that we have rights. Our government continues to try to paralyze people with fear of terrorism, sedate them with cheap products, and numb them with the incessant partisan warfare (with a huge assist from the corporate press). They have no fear of being voted out due to the huge amounts of money they raise from industry, from gerrymandered districts, and each party claiming they are the only ones who will stop the government from harming America. They ALL need to be voted out. We need a wholesale replacement of the government, and a destruction of the 2 party system. Only then, will our government again feel beholden to its citizens, rather then the sources of money and power that it truly panders to.
