The thunderstorm is raging outside.....severe weather heading this way.....one of the most beautiful things I see living here along the coast is when these storms break up and the first light pierces through the grey veil onto the vast wetlands and marshes that line the coast.....the light is surreal.....producing rainbows in the east and marshes that become a vibrant green when frontally lit against the slate grey skies......I am beginning to paint the glow of the rainbow into this painting and it will take many many many thin transparent layers to achieve this......so here is one of many to come....I lay milky layers in fast and then worked color into them slowly over the next few hours.....I let this dry and repeat the process over and over until the sky is luminous and the marsh brilliant
