The ticket launch for the Ghosts of Lincoln today at A Novel Idea bookstore was a huge success ! I realized later that many of my friends had stopped in when I read the ticket manifests and I was so busy answering phones Im sorry I didnt acknowledge you. I wasnt ignoring you and Im grateful for you stopping by today. The staff at A Novel Idea, Melissa Colborn and I played a game where wed hang the phone up after completing a ticket purchase via telephone and then count in seconds until it rang again. Often it wouldnt get to 6 seconds before it was ringing again. Special thanks to Cinnamon and Kat at A Novel Idea for opening the store up on what is normally their day off and then jumping into the launch and never once complaining about the work load. Seeing how both of you relate to your customers and friends in a positive and cheerful manner is exemplary of the good reputation A Novel Idea bookstore has, and its many friends and patrons. You continue to excel at setting the bar high for customer service and meeting that commitment. I ask the readers of my post to continue to support this fine locally owned bookstore ! Thanks to Melissa Colborn for her great work today at the launch, greeting people and keeping our ticket manifests and ticket counts accurate. You are really appreciated. Thank you to all the special people who called in and stopped by today to purchase tickets for the Ghosts of Lincoln bus tours. Great to see Dale Nitz and Mark Nitz as the second and third people in line for tickets; I hope you guys got some of the donut holes and coffee that I brought down for the pre-opening group of folks. I think a special recognition goes to Robert Rowell for calling in over 160 times until he was able to purchase tickets ! Way to go Geno ! With our most ambitious goal yet of selling 600 tickets, we sold 581 (96.8 %). I have a few left and have contacted several people that have first rights to these remaining tickets. Im tired and happy. Thank you again everyone for your support and great attitude from the early morning ticket line that stretched around the corner of the block before opening, to the last person calling in and/or leaving A Novel Idea tonight. Im looking forward to the 2014 Ghosts of Lincoln bus tours ! Peace.
