The time has come that I must raise my voice. I am not good with - TopicsExpress

The time has come that I must raise my voice. I am not good with grammar and syntax. It was never my forte. I have never sought to stand out in a crowd or make my voice heard outside my circle. I am not seeking accolades, nor am I trying to force my views on others. I am however an average American. I live in a rural community. I am a wife and mother. I am a Christian. I am a conservative. I pay my taxes. I am a citizen. And like most of you, I just want to live my life without hindrance. I don’t want the government in my bedroom, kitchen or any other room in my home. I don’t want my government telling me whether my shed is up to code or my grass is 1.5 inches too tall. I don’t want my government fomenting racial issues or forcing me to buy healthcare I do not wish to purchase. I don’t want my government telling me what livestock I may or may not own. I do not want my government pushing its agenda on my life without regard to the consequences. I am fed up with petty little bureaucrats forcing Americans to conform to unjust regulations because some uninformed and out of touch politician received a kickback from a corporation in exchange for adding a clause to a bill that protects the corporation’s interests. And I am fed up with a government that does not care if its laws unjustly affect its citizens as long as they get to feel powerful in inflicting them upon us! I am fed up with the lapdog national media that bites the hand that feeds it. I am fed up with a government that will not protect its people or its borders. I am outraged that my government can now legally kill its citizens with drones regardless of proof of guilt. I am outraged that my government can detain its citizens without due process, indefinitely. I am outraged that I can be classified as a terrorist because I have more than 7 days worth of food. I am outraged that my government cares more about expanding its power than it does about the freedom of its citizens. I am outraged that my government believes that it is beneficial to its citizens to strip us of our constitutional rights in favor of the non-existent security that only a government so removed from its citizenry would believe we are gullible enough to desire. I am outraged by my government! Samuel Adams said, “If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.” That time is now. I am an American. I weep for my country. DeAnna Johnson
