The top photo, taken in the mid 1940s, shows the R. H. Todd Lumber Co., located in North Ocala at the northeast corner of North Osceola Street and East Henry Avenue (now NE 9th Street). The business specialized in lumber and building material, and featured a millwork shop that produced custom wooden windows, doors and moldings. The business was owned and operated by Rush H. Todd; President, and Leonard E. Todd; Secretary and Treasurer. I believe these two gentlemen are the grandfather and father, respectively, of our classmate Carol Todd Potts. The second image above is a copy of an advertisement for the business that appeared on the front cover of the 1923-1924 Ocala City Directory. The photo below, taken from Google Earth Street Views, shows the current location of the former business. It appears that the original R. H. Todd Lumber Co. office building visible in the right side of the top photo as well as the giant oak tree have survived.
