The trick to survival is to never let the world see the part of you thats still alive. This is the biological reason that your skin cells die before reaching the air -- you wear your former skins as though they were the hide of a kill, as you sneak up on the people who knew you when they were alive, several weeks ago. But psychologically, you do it too. You great old friends with old jokes. Your family with old stories. Dead, dead, dead. Everyone sneaking up on each other.
