The true gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good - TopicsExpress

The true gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled is necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others rather than his own; and who appears well in any company; a man with honor is sacred and virtue safe. - John Walter Wayland (1899) Ever since I left Topsail High School in June, 2012 I havent felt apart of something as pure as my brotherhood with my former Black Hat Brothers. Ive struggled to find my place in this world after high school. It has been a very VERY confusing, difficult, emotionally exhausting and life changing experience. Im soo thankful that I have been able to overcome all the obstacles that have been in my way so far in my life, and Id be lying if I said that I did it alone. When the truth is ive been giving second chances by those who shouldnt have given me another one Pat Donovan-Potts ; Ive been encouraged by my best friend Joshua Peregoy to just keep my head up and continue to fight battles within myself so i could forget all the bad things in my past. Ive been pushed to my limits educationally by someone who I no longer am with but id do anything for her if she needed me too because I owe her soo much more than what I have been able to give her up until this point in my life NatalieandShawn Kosnik and her family for giving comfort and providing for me and I thank you soo much for everything you and the entire family has done for me, Vern Kosnik. And Ive been scolded, disciplined, rewarded, informed of disappointments and proud moments by my parents Jeff Radley and Kathryn Radley. I owe EVERYTHING and more to you two, all my accomplishments, awards, decisions (good ones), the guidance and advice that I give to many people who come to me for support and advice when they have no one else to go to, and the list keeps going on and on. I learned everything from them and I couldnt ask for a better set of parents. I love you mom and dad soo much and I truly have been thanking God for blessing me with such great parents. Because I wouldnt be anywhere close to where I am today without you. And these arent even close to all the people that have been contributing to my success in overcoming these life struggles. For EVERYONE and ANYONE who has contributed, thank you soo much, and God Bless you! Anyways back to the main part of this post, I have been officially accepted into the brotherhood of North Carolina Omega of Sigma Alpha Epsilon of Western Carolina University this afternoon. And like I said I have never been this happy since my Topsail Blackhat Football years. I can finally feel like Im headed in the right direction for once in my life. Its about dang time too that things started coming together for me through all the hard times these past couple years especially. Though my life is still not perfect, Im am trying my damn hardest to make it as close to perfect as possible. Again thanks to everyone who has contributed. With lots and lots of love and sincerity, Ryan T. Radley
