The truth about serums...... I first discovered serums quite late - TopicsExpress

The truth about serums...... I first discovered serums quite late into my beauty career. I had worked for Elizabeth Arden for 13 years (as you probably all know the story about me running first the London Training School and then the American one) and it was way before the introduction of serums. You just had to rely on a good moisturiser, and as the years went on and your skin got dryer you ended up by having to use axel grease to ease the dehydration, tightness and general lifelessness (Im not sure that this is a word - I might just have made it up, but you get the picture!) But the trouble is a moisturiser just treats the top of your skin, the outside. Its only part of the story. So what is a serum? Why do we need one? and do you use it as well as or instead of my moisturiser? These are all questions I get asked on an almost daily basis. Lightweight but powerful, serums are swiftly absorbed. But more than that, the science of fomulating serums makes for super-high concentration of active ingredients, potentially delivering impressive results. A few concentrated drops may be all it takes to deliver their complexion-boosting ingredients, and because of their lightness, the skin absorbs them quickly and deeply. Thats why youll often see instantaneous benefits, as well as longer term results on age spots, lines and wrinkles. So do you need a serum? If you are over 25 the answer is yes, a serums the perfect way to start to take advantage of the highest concentration of ingredients - often anti-ageing. But do you use a serum on its own? well, no. Its true that a serum like Brenda Anvari Skin Serum and the Anti-Ageing Face Serum feels deliciously silky, when smoothed onto the skin - but as I said before its only part of the picture, albeit a vital one. (And even oily skins moisture) So how do you use a serum? After cleansing and toning your face, pat skin dry (as you dont want to dilute the serum on damp skin) then apply a pea-sized drop of serum, smoothing it evenly over face and neck. Then apply you face oil (if you use one) and your usual moisturiser or skin balm, eye gel and or eye cream. Think of a serum as being a primer for the rest of your skincare to help you outsmart the effects on skin of ageing. The Skin Serum is a lovely light, oil free (also ideal for a combination/oily skin) gel, infused with the precious organic essential oil of Rose Otto. It glides on effortlessly and instantly revitalises the skin. Used on so many different skin types and ages it is our all time no. 1 best selling product. Also for the discerning skin the Anti Ageing Skin Serum just gives you more on every level. Again it has a lovely light feel, that glides on the skin with a little bit more punch! With the added benefit of organic Argan Oil (an ancient oil, harvested in Morocco only by womens co-operatives to reinvest the money into the villages) it offers an intense firming of the tissues. Organic Jasmine and Rose Otto essential oils to rejuvenate and regenerate. Ideally this serum would be a must-have for the over 40s, but a concerned 30+ could benefit from it too. So: every womans questions about serums, answered. Including, perhaps, the trickiest one of all, exactly which one should I opt for: look no further!
