“The truth about those people we call Cajuns of the Bayou is that we look up to them because of what and who they were. They live in the vast wilderness of Louisiana’s tough but abundant coastline. These Cajuns lived a life where a family answered only to their God and each other. They chose to be guided by the fairest judge of all, nature herself. Their personalities were tempered by by the elements of wind and rain. The vastness of of the marsh and sea taught them courage. Violent storm insisted upon respect, and even humility. The slowly changing seasons,of frost burnt prairies with ducks and geese,turning to lush green grass of summer, demanded patience. A days catch of critters. to fill bellies or buy groceries ,required a man to be cunning. In time of plenty charity was in order. In time of scarcity prudence prevailed. Yes, it all made them thoughtful people Capable people who were happy and fund loving ,too”
