"The truth is that Senator McCarthy was getting uncomfortably - TopicsExpress

"The truth is that Senator McCarthy was getting uncomfortably close to the actual Soviet Communist spies—so close, in fact, that the Communist Party decided they had to do something about what they saw as the McCarthy problem. What they came up with is no less than what the Progressive-Socialist Democratic Party does today—name-calling. These clever Communist espionage agents coined a phrase that so affected the American psyche that is still used today—long after the death of Senator McCarthy. The term they came up with was “McCarthyism.” That’s right, “McCarthyism” is an invention of the Communist Party. The problem with the continued use of this term by Progressives and their cohorts is that half a century later, when the Berlin wall fell and the soon to follow demise of the Soviet Union, KGB files were declassified and the “inconvenient truth” emerged—McCarthy was right! The invoking Fifth Amendment Communists he had called before his Senate hearing committee indeed proved to be operatives of the Soviet Union’s Communist Party. Did America learn from history? The answer is a resounding NO, proving once again the bigger the lie the more likely people will believe it, and the more you repeat a lie the more believable it becomes until it finally becomes accepted as fact. You don’t believe it? Just recently on Fox News I heard a Republican claim that we have to be careful with our investigations of the so-called “Phony Scandals” or we will be accused of “McCarthyism;” and this in the shadow of the historical evidence that McCarthy was right all along. Perhaps some in the Republican Party are afraid of the truth—you decide." - See more at: politichicks.tv/column/matt-damon-hollywoods-latest-trend-full-blown-unabashed-socialism/#sthash.IBlRMp8f.dpuf
