The turn of the millennium did not change anything at All. Haiti was once again under the microscope of the International community. The strings pulled by the “shadow government of Washington became a little more visible in the violence, chaos and coup attempts before the Haitis presidential election scheduled for November 26th 2000. The fear to have Jean-Bertrand Aristide for a second term made Washington very nervous. But the inevitable was bound to happen; and since then, Haiti has been in a psychological embargo.
