The university papers were leaked. The management was stunned. The Dean, registrar, the director and the vice chancellor, all were baffled. University exams were due in a month. The worst part about the incident was that the entire college got to know about it. The bright students were dispirited. The papers could have been swapped for sure but there was no guarantee whether the papers won’t be leaked again, hence trapping the culprits was the bigger issue. “Let us constitute a committee which will question students and will try finding the culprits” Mr. Mukherjee, the vice chancellor announced. “Yes! Will do sir. Do not worry. The culprits will be pinned in no time” Mr. Sinha, the registrar said. “Good! That’s what we expect and keep the whole thing confidential. I do not want people maligning students baselessly and we certainly want to catch the offenders unawares.” Said the vice chancellor. The registrar nodded, all four shook hands and the meeting was dismissed. The steel vault in the guard room far away from the hostels and academic block served as the secret locker for the leaked papers. This was one of the most shocking revelations of the probe. Another one was that 2 senior professors were involved in the scam. And of course one of the guards helped them keep their papers safely. The probe committee was finally successful in finding the culprits. Siddharth, Gagan and Mukul of third year were the culprits. Mr. Singh and Mr. Goyal were the two professors who helped the students in unlawfully obtaining the papers and guard Suresh provided the students with a safe locker. It was one big conspiracy, a grand scam. The committee has submitted their report to the management. The charges are yet to be proved. The management is planning to strike down upon the culprits silently but the students are restless. They want them to disclose the names. They obviously are enraged and emotionally charged but are not aware of the system, policies and the power of confidentiality. Some students are even accusing the management of doing a U turn.
