The use of tombstones and gigantic marble monuments, is a tradition which is steadily fading in light of the current condition of our natural environment and their past history of being badly maintained in municipal cemeteries. No longer are people infatuated with ostentatious gestures, such as they were in the past, where the bigger your monument meant the more you were valued as a member to society. They also now try to assist eco-friendly ventures, and will much rather choose an eco-friendly product over one which is damaging to the earth. Our natural stone markers require almost a ZERO MANUFACTURING PROCESS, as they are sourced naturally from the parks where we are situated. This allows us to sell our stone markers to families for a minimal price. The cost of a marker at Legacy Parks, is 1/15th the price of an AVERAGE marble tombstone. Normal stone markers can cost up to an excess of R25 000, with our stone markers costing only R650. Our true value lies in the hearts of our loved ones and in their memory of us, which no size of monument could express. That is why our markers are meant as simply that: a marker to the area. They are placed, flat on the earth, underneath an indigenous tree of the families choosing. It is the tree which serves as the real monument to our loved ones, as it continuously grows year after year, and changes with the seasons, something not found in traditional cemeteries. Another unique feature of our stone markers, is the fact that each stone marker is fitted with a GPS trackable, RFID tag which carries the personal information of the loved one, as well as all of the unique information about his area, such as: his chosen tree, the types of plants in his nearby surrounding area, the types of birds which frequent his area, as well as the types of smells and colours that are featured in his area (due to the naturally growing plant life). Choosing a natural burial in one of Legacy Parks natural areas, allows the use of a stone marker, as well as placing a natural bench or even elements such as eco-friendly bird feeders.
