The vestibular system is located in your inner ear. These developmental “gems” are responsible for your balance, coordination, spatial awareness, visual skills, motor planning, attention and even language development! The brain receives information from different types of receptors to help it learn about the world around it. We have many receptors in our vestibular system. These receptors activate when the position of your head is changed in space, making it essential to move frequently and move in a variety of ways. Little humans have had a fond appreciation for vestibular input from the first time they did somersaults in the womb right to the first time their mommies and daddies rocked them in their arms.
