The victim in this morning’s drowning incident in Flagler Estates has been pronounced deceased at Flagler Hospital. The two year old male child was found by his mother in a swimming pool at a residence in the 10000 block of Ebert Avenue at just after 11:30 a.m. Initial reports were that the child was not seen for ten minutes prior to being located in the water. Dispatchers with St. Johns County Fire-Rescue and the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office instructed family with lifesaving efforts over the phone until the arrival of emergency personnel. County rescue personnel continued those efforts as they transported the victim to Flagler Hospital. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are continuing the investigation. The identity of the victim will be released pending an autopsy
