The victory of Prophet Musa (alayhis-salaam) and the believers over Pharaoh and his soldiers is a victory of truth over falsehood. This was a victory for truth and for oppressed people; the followers of Musa (alayhi-salaam) over falsehood, aggressors, the arrogant and oppressors. Fasting Ashura is in commemoration of this victory! What some Shias are doing on this day of weeping and wailing, and scars and screaming, and expressing anger over the killing of Hussain (radiAllaahu anhu) and what they are doing to torture themselves, and shedding blood from their faces and chests and backs, and slapping their cheeks, and plucking their hairs, and seeking closeness to Allaah by striking their bodies with chains and knives. Surely, has nothing to do with Islaam, let alone anything to do with the virtues of Ashura! #Ashura
