The virtually forgotten Hungarian pianist Sari Biro in a performance of Bartoks Nine Old Dance Tunes from 15 Hungarian Peasant Dances. Apparently Biro had played for Bartok when she was a child in Hungary, and years later in the US the composer heard her play this work on the radio and contacted them to compliment Biro on her singing tone. She does indeed play with a lovely palette of colours, as well as with lyrical phrasing, transparent voicing, and varied but consistent articulation.
