The voice of God and the face of God are manifested in the secret place. Oh my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely (SOS 2:14). In fact, the secret place of the cliff is translated this way in the KJV: in the secret places of the stairs… In Strongs Concordance the secret places of the stairs is: #5643 in the Hebrew: cether— a cover; hiding place, protection, secret (-ly place). Something happens in the secret place—the voice of God is heard and the face of God is seen. We hear the voice of God in quietness and stillness and we behold the face of God in worship.
