The war between Byrmo and former label Chocolate City has taken a new twist. Just recently the case was brought before Justice Bubba at the Federal High Court Ikoyi Lagos on the 11th of November 2013 and from the first proceedings it looks like we are in for the long haul. On the designated day for trial, BrymO and his counsel did not turn up for the court hearing while the plaintiff Chocolate City who were represented by Ms. C. O. Madubuko from L and A Legal Consultants were in court. According to insiders in the BrymO camp, they have been advised by their legal team on not coming to court till they have been officially served the court papers. From all indications this is not going to end quickly. The counsel for Chocolate City also didn’t come to court with all the necessary files forcing the presiding Judge to adjourn the case till the 5th of December 2013. Some people in the BrymO corner feel this is a ploy to let the case drag and delay the release of BrymO’s much anticipated third studio effort Merchants, Dealers and Slaves. Neither BrymO nor his management have agreed to comment on the issue as at the time of writing this report.
