The weather man lied again! Temps were to climb past freezing and stay there through Christmas, possibly even thru the following weekend. And I was so looking forward to not having ice in my guides today and over this weekend.... Truly a bummer. Wind chill is now below zero. The revised forecast is wind through Sunday, then temps will begin climbing above freezing during the day. Expect midges to be active on the lower Shoshone or Bighorn River tail waters in WY; possibly some blue-winged olives on top, too. Nymphs and streamers are working well sub-surface. Wherever you go over the Christmas and New Year holiday, I hope you had the presence of mind to pack the fly fishing gear! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from North Fork Anglers.
