The weather pattern is simply not conducive for a snow storm in - TopicsExpress

The weather pattern is simply not conducive for a snow storm in the Hudson Valley on Sunday into Monday; however, all indications are that northern Virginia will receive the brunt of this storm. Rain begins Sunday afternoon before changing to snow overnight and into the morning hours. In general, 3-6 will fall in the northern Virginia region but until we get closer to the event (specifically late tonight and tomorrow morning) it will be hard to pinpoint where the heaviest accumulations will be. There could be more, there could be less. This map from the NWS predicts the probability in percentage (%) of seeing more than 4 of snow in the depicted region. When a snow map is released, I will share that with you. Some snow showers may make it into the southern valley, but I dont think that is likely. Today is going to be very warm- highs in the 50s in NY and around 70 in northern Virginia. These temperatures will make it difficult for snow to stick tomorrow night in Virginia, so that could really come into play when discussing accumulations. There might be some sprinkles in NY. Enjoy the warmer weather!
