The weekend Courier did a great story on the program in their last issue and it was greatly appreciated. There appears to be an increase in youngsters being approached by strangers in the local and nearby areas. Parents please be vigilant and be sure your youngster knows the stranger danger message. Safety House holders please report to the State Office any uses that a youngster has used your place for whatever reason. This information is required for our data base and helps us when applying for grants. Uses upto October this year has been 62 with 4 being reported to police. One of an householder being warned of stranger danger in the area. I do know of others that have not been reported to us. Im appealing for help to run and manage the program here in Kwinana. If your able to spend a couple of hours a school term to do a couple of house checks in your neighbourhood would be of great help to me.
