The welfare of transport workers, such as bus captains, technicians and other workers in the bus industry remains a key priority as we shift towards the Government Contracting Model. We have been in consultation with the National Transport Workers Union (NTWU), and bus operators to help transport workers understand bus contracting, and to ensure job security and a smooth transition for affected workers. This will include employment offers to all workers, on terms and conditions similar to what they already receive. An existing tripartite workgroup, chaired by Senior Minister of State for Transport Mrs Josephine Teo, and comprising LTA, the Ministry of Manpower and the NTWU, will oversee this effort.
