The west claims Syria is a threat, well Syria is a threat if you provoke Syria. In 1983, Syrian S-200 missiles operated by the 220th Air Defense Brigade supervised by the Soviets back then, shot down two US jets, an A-6 and an A-7 over Lebanon. Anybody remember what the Syrian command did? Orders came from the high command not to shoot down any enemy jets at long range unless late President Assad approves it himself. He didnt give such orders because he was afraid of the US, he gave these orders because he had a plan, he thought ahead. This little history lesson will mean something to some and nothing to others, however we will not clarify any more. We never ran away from war, we will not hesitate to protect ourselves, but we will never start a war we dont need. War is not a game, and not a matter of emotion, war is a matter of strategy and thinking. Syrian Arab Army
