The western world is finished speaking about Ebola due to the realization that an epidemic is nearly impossible in any modern advanced nation state. Late night television hosts along with others cracked some jokes about Ebola and got a few laughs out of people. As a society we all tend to forget what doesnt directly impact us. As children and parents continue to die due to Ebola western society continues to care about Kim Kardashian’s ass. Think about it, Kim Kardashian’s ass can crash websites. Im continuously mocked for posting these statues, Im called crazy and accused of only wanting to start drama. Sadly I simply want people to think, think about societal flaws and world problems, think about stuff that is bigger than our society. If posting opinions on important matters entails craziness then Im probably insane. America cares more about a plastic ass than heartbreaking situations within Africa. We have these amazing tools like Facebook to help spread awareness and we use them to talk about plastic asses and excessively post pictures of ourselves. Imagine if the amount of pictures of people clubbing or partying were replaced with pictures of starving children in Africa. People advertise themselves on social media looking for satisfaction and self reassurance that their attractive. Imagine if people found satisfaction and self reassurance in being themselves and helping others and promoting positive thought.
