The whole point of life on earth is to grow and expand beyond that which is. Thats why there is eternally more, always has been and always will be. A desire arises for something which is not in our experience. The moment a new desire is born (comes into our awareness) there is suffering. We feel inadequate because of this unfulfilled desire. What if, the desire-less-ness is not possible for an eternal being? What if anticipation about what is to arrive is factored in the human design? The fact is that a desire is the beginning point of attracting more abundance. If the desire originates from the joy of inner abundance, it attracts more to be joyful for; but if it originates from the fear of ‘not enough’ and lack-mentality, it attracts lack, poverty, suffering and stress. Joyful desires put eternalness into eternity. Without desires, there will be no existence. Being happy with what is, while happily anticipating what is yet to arrive, ends the suffering associated with desires.
