The wisdom of man is 180 degrees from the truth. So, when Jesus came to the Earth and spoke, they didnt understand. Why? They were schooled by a lie from birth. He took a whole chapter in Matthew to explain you say, but I say. Christ tells us that our natural language is not Heavens. You say love your neighboor hate your enemy, but Jesus says love your enemy; pray for those that hurt you; give to those that despitefully use you. You say hate; Christ says love. Many times our reaction to Jesus teaching is well, you dont know how they hurt me.. Thats because you are thinking for yourself! You dont have a heart for them; you dont even realize that theyre lost! Can you imagine Jesus beaten beyond compare, carrying the cross thinking: How could they release Barnabas for me? And he starts thinking for himself.. All of done is heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead. All the sudden hes thinking of his good works and how he laid down his life for the people. And all he hears is Barnabas, Barnabas. And he starts thinking rationally. And all the sudden he is building a case for his feelings. And all the sudden he drops the cross. God, Im not doing this! Are you kidding me? For them?! What do they care? Ive healed the sick, cast out demons, raised the dead and they call me a demon possessed Samaritan. They released Barnabas for me? He is a murder and atropine maker; Ive done nothing but good. They cant see. God they dont love us. They dont love you. They surely dont love me. Im not dying for these deceived losers- Im done! He would be totally right and justified in our eyes! Hed win out the audience on every talk show today. We would be villains and he would be a victim. Thats the wisdom of the world. And its void of love. If those words, and that mindset sounds foolish in the mouth of Jesus, it will sound just as foolish in yours because youre made for his image. The reason we think and talk like that was when Adam ate of the tree, he took on the nature of Gods enemy. And every man since then was born into Adam. Thats why you must be born again. Jesus never said if any man come after me, let him pray this prayer. No, he said if any man come after me, let him first deny himself. Why? You were never made for you! You were made for the image of God. (You were made to live just as Jesus lived- a direct reflection of The Lord). And when you live for yourself, its the greatest misuse of your created value. So.. When we live our lives in love, reflecting Jesus, yet the world doesnt respond to us in the same way, It is not that we are doing anything wrong. Its just that the world needs Jesus; theyre deceived.
