The withdrawal of UHURU’s ICC case will kill Jubilee Alliance - KALENJINS will walk out! Friday December 5,2014- A section of political analysts and observers have said the withdraw of the ICC charges against President Uhuru Kenyatta could strain the relationship between Uhuru and his Deputy, William Ruto, because their unity is based on ICC charges. In an interview with one of the local dailies, University of Nairobi Political Science lecturer, Henry Amadi, said Uhuru’s vindication from the ICC could cause a big rift in the Jubilee administration sinceformer President Mwai Kibaki’s men were seen as part of Ruto’s ICC fixers. Kibaki like Uhuru comes from Central Kenya. Amadi said several questions will be asked by the Kalenjin community, among them whether, if Uhuru is let off the hook, Ruto will remain.Of course there would be tensionin the Government, which would intensify towards the 2017 General Election,” Amadi said. The political scholar said historically, the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities have always lived in mutual suspicion and the ICC decision may spell the end forthe Jubilee coalition. But Bureti MP, Leonard Sang, dismissed Amadi’s thinking, insisting that the Jubilee Coalition was founded on mutual trust between Uhuru and Ruto.
