The wonderful thing about having a black president in the White House: it offers the closet racists an opportunity to come out into the open, and make fools of themselves under the glaring scrutiny of instant communication in a social media universe they cannot silence. Its a universe of democratic access to, and dissemination of information, and the right and ability to form an opinion, and express it instantly, without fear of hooded men showing up to burn crosses on your lawn in the dead of night, counting on the silence of the dominant collective to slip away with impunity. Its a universe replete with citizen reporters, armed with modern and instantaneous information sharing technological tools, that impart the ultimate right to freedom of speech, free from the censorship of controlled media, owned by special interest groups that procreate and perpetuate an unbalanced racial status quo. It is a universe that lends true credence to the oft-cited power of the global village collective, where every voice can be heard, and listened to, irrespective of entrenched racial interest islets that proclaim republicanism in speech, but practice suppression and oppression of the traditionally marginalized. In everything they proclaim, they portend ultimate calamity for the supposedly melting pot collective, for the simple reason that the current occupant of the White House is not white.
