The word seek in the dictionary is wonderful. It means to go in search or quest of; to find by searching or endeavor; to try to obtain; to try or attempt; to go to; to ask for; request; to search for; to be sought after, to be desire or in demand. Luke 19:10 And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost. The preceding scriptures was about Zacchaeus. He was an influential Jew and a tax collector. He was made very rich and the people of that day hated him. Here is Jesus telling him that he would be a guest in his home that very day. What! He is a notorious sinner! In verse 8 as he stood before Jesus he knew that he had been a sinner (my words). He had overcharged many in their taxes and probably kept it for himself. As he stood there before Jesus, he confessed his sin to him and knowing the law said he would give back four times what was stolen. Verse 9 tells us salvation has come to this home today. My point being, we see Jesus seeking those who knew that they needed seeking and saving. When presented with the One who could save, they were welcomed into the kingdom of our Lord Jesus. I was sought after by the Holy Spirit and you, as well, were sought by Him. It was the seeking, searching desire, of our Lord that I have been saved and found! Hallelujah and praise to the Lord. I am no longer lost but have been found. Lord, we are your feet, your mouth, your eyes and your written words for those who are lost and needing you to save them! Use me, use us to reach out to the dying world. Amen
