The work finally begins! The flat roof for St. Matthew’s Education/Parish Hall building is being replaced. It is expected to take 10 days depending on the weather; rain and actual outdoor temperatures will effect work days for the project. If you happen to pass by you will see a dump truck from time to time throughout the day being loaded with old roofing materials that are being removed. The entrance between the Education/ Parish Hall Building and the Chapel is temporarily closed during the week because it is a staging area for the roofer to work. St. Matthew’s buildings are being power washed, and made ready for the next phase of getting the stone sealed and moisture proof. The before and after pictures are very dramatic and St. Matthew’s looks brand new and shiny again. The tuck pointing is addressing both beauty and function – restoring the luster of the buildings and the keeping the stones water tight. https://flickr/photos/96056850@N05/sets/72157648750023689/
