The work of the Word of God in spiritual warfare is not some light, frivolous whitewashing over surface situations. The work of the Word is “quick and powerful-it is alive and active. It is sharp. It cuts more keenly than] any two-edged sword. It strikes through to the place where the soul and spirit meet, to the innermost intimacies of a man’s being. It exposes the very thoughts and motives of a man’s heart.” Hebrews 4:12.
