The world celebrates INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD tomorrow and the theme is EMPOWERING ADOLESCENT GIRLS: ENDING THE CYCLE OF VIOLENCE. How can Liberia celebrate with the rest of the world when the deadly disease called EBOLA has prevented our girls from going to school, when the rate of maternal mortality is on the increase and most of these deaths are adolescent girls due to the shortage of skilled health workers and closure of health facilities? When these very adolescent girls we want to empower lost their lives on a hourly basis to this deadly EBOLA virus? All these questions are yet to be answered. Not withstanding WE WILL NOT GIVE UP!we will stand tall to the task despite of all the challenges we face right now, giving up is not an option at this stage. Our girls deserve better and we strive in our own ways to help empower our girls. REMEMBER! IF YOU EMPOWER A GIRL, YOU EMPOWER A NATION.
