The world is difficult to figure out sometimes. My late father, a young 21 year old tank commander in WW2 from D-Day to the liberation of the horrific Belsen Concentration Camp, and also present at the Luneburg War Crimes Trial, would never talk about his experiences, and Im only just beginning to understand why: From a Jewish prisonerss recollection of the Belsen liberation, April 15, 1945: Gradually they heard a curious rumbling sound; the earth was shaking. British tanks were coming someone said. Somewhat later they saw soldiers in khaki come up to the wire. The soldiers looked into the camp and then, one after another, they threw up. An estimated 13,000 unburied corpses, mostly Jewish, were lying around the camp. .... and then today, a very pleasant Palestinian told me over coffee in Ramullah that the Jews had done very bad things to millions of Germans.
