The world is not easily moved to transformation; it requires many people to disturb its equilibrium; and even when disturbed, it tends quickly to resume its status quo. Jesus was an agitator and a disturber. He confronted the status quo at every place where it diminished or compromised the truth. This is why Jesus was a threat. He would not go away. The idea of the kingdom of God is subversive. It tells people - things dont have to be this way. You can get killed for telling people that.
