The world suffers a lot, not because of the violence of the bad people but the silence of the good people Napoleon Bonaparte I have decided to dedicate the remainder of my life to fighting for the people of this country—until their right is restored to them.” General Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR BUHARI CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION (BCO) INUAGURATES ADVISORY COMMITTEE INONDO STATE. Ondo state chapter of the Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) flagged-off Mohammadu Buhari’s political campaign team by inaugurating the state advisory committee on Friday, in Akure, the capital city of the Sunshine state, where party chieftains and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were in attendance. In his address, the state coordinator of BCO, Ifeoluwa Oyedele enthused that the occasion was first of its kind in the state when there was a large assemblage of the leaders of the party for a common political goal and interest, except those who hold executive positions in the party that were exempted in adherence to the partys rules and regulations. He reiterated the purpose of the political gathering and stated that, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the government of President Goodluck Jonathan have failed all Nigerians. “Nigerians within a certain age bracket readily agree that the Nigeria we see today is not the country of our dream. It is tragic that a country birthed with great human and natural potentials has today been plunged into the abyss of hopelessness. The situation today is even grimmer.” Oyedele, the man who wept profusely with Buhari during the 2011 Presidential election, lamented that the life expectancy for every Nigerian is below 48 years if such person was lucky to escape the alarming child mortality rate; he also lamented the high level of insecurity in the country, the poor and falling standard of education, unemployment, erratic power supply and the moribund infrastructures littered around due to bad leadership in the country. He assured the people that the coming together of the opposition parties across the country to wrestle the mantle of leadership from the PDP and salvage the nation from its political decadence, will go a long way to redeem the image of the country, revamp its dwindling economy, restore peace and stability, and further foster the unity of the nation if Muhammadu Buhari is voted as Nigerian President in 2015. “While the APC has an array of qualified members who are eminently qualified to lead this nation, it is common knowledge that General Mohammadu Buhari (GCFR) possesses all the exemplary qualities in terms of competence, experience, integrity, discipline and humility. Above all, it is the considered opinion of millions of Nigerians, that he GMB only, possesses the mass appeal with the electorates to defeat the candidate of the PDP in a free and fair election,” he added. Oyedele, a Board of Trustee (BoT) member, of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) and a member of the merger committee of APC in 2013, enumerated the patriotic and selfless services which Buhari has rendered to Nigeria; and observed that he alone has the untainted and impeccable personality to restore the glory of Nigeria politically and economically. He formally declared the political structure and machinery of the organisation (BCO) on how to organise the masses across the 3 senatorial districts, 18 Local Government Areas, 203 wards and 3,009 units of the state for effective and superlative grass-root mobilisation and sensitization. The state coordinator urged party members and stakeholders to utilize their wealth of experience to ensure the success of Buhari at the presidential poll, and appreciated those who have been supporting the group and party in cash and kind. “For us in Ondo State, APC, through its performance at the next Presidential election must send a strong signal that we are the choice of the people to take over from an inept and rudderless government that has been fostered on the state and nation at large for the past 15 years,” he said.
