The world was hers for the taking. She graduated from Velez College and passed the nursing board exam. She was a writer, editor-in-chief of the Vital Signs in fact. She was an exemplary student leader. She could have achieved so much in the mainstream world. Yet, she chose to take the road less taken. She chose to be an epitome to a generation that have in their hands the chance to change the system of the world. She gave up her life to awaken us all to the realities that confront us. RACHELLE MAE PALANG (1987-2008), you will be remembered. The torch you lit will be passed on and we will carry it forward.
