The worlds fastest and slowest blink of an eye How endlessly time flows, from the perspective of a childs sight. When staring out the windows of a grade school windows spite. Forever stretches before us as we struggle through childhoods bloom. Never a thought of our demise much less our eventual and inevitable doom. Baggage filled with the weight, of lifes eventual heavy load. So far from our young minds perception as the teachers scold and goad. Telling us to prepare for our futures, our choice! Lead or gold! What thoughts had we then? Sit up straight, mind your manners we were told. All in the blink of an eye as I look back from my jaundiced sight. The things that once motivated and moved now fill me with regret and fright. For my eyes when I was once young seemed possessed with second sight. And the blink of my eyes moved so much slower and when reopened so much brighter the light. So much slower the passing of time, when my lack of knowledge made the world seem so promising and bright. Just the trick God places within our young souls. At lifes end all seems so wrong, but in the beginning it seems so right. And I remember how slowly time passed. I remember the promising road ahead. I recall the seeking of knowledge. But never thought once of how one day Id be dead. And in the worlds slowest blink of an eye, I lived as fast as I could. And in worlds fastest blink of any eye, look back and realize. That I never could or would. Even when my eyes blinked slower. Find wisdom that would make me think!!!!!!!!!! That I ever understood.
