The worst thing anyone can do is surround themselves with yes-men. - TopicsExpress

The worst thing anyone can do is surround themselves with yes-men. That form of comfort is a sure-fire way to impede your own development. Likewise, I constantly seek out people smarter and more accomplished than myself in all possible categories. I believe wholeheartedly in the Jim Rohn quote that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. As a result, I’m extremely picky about those I chose to work with. Many have had the opportunity to cooperate with me, but when faced with their behind-the-scenes behaviour, tribalism and bravado, I had to cut them out. I simply will not jeopardise the positive atmosphere that I have worked so hard to create over the years. Being positive is a constant uphill battle in this very strange Wing-Tsun-of-any-spelling culture. Back in the day, I too participated in politics and for that I’m not proud. That’s why it’s important to remind myself that remaining positive is not only worth it—it’s absolutely necessary to move forward! -- Spread of our cover interview with Sifu Alex Richter from the upcoming Issue No. 18.
