The writer Robert Morgan says A library is richer than Fort Knox, - TopicsExpress

The writer Robert Morgan says A library is richer than Fort Knox, and everybody has the key. As it is Library Week, I share Shall I Proclaim My Love for the Library Fair, a sonnet I wrote at work a few years back about North Carolina libraries. Shall I proclaim my love for the library fair? A vein of gold of unrivaled in history: Where young and old can earn riches beyond compare, And live the state motto, Esse Quam Videri. Librarians hold knowledge dear, In all its many ways and charms. When patrons call they fast appear, To answer questions and assuage alarms. Technology has changed the way We use these hallowed, storied halls. But love for learning still holds sway, As one can tell by glancing at these walls. So long as people search, or seek to read, So long the library will seek to meet that need.
