The year 2014, broke my streak of consecutive Thanksgiving Day, - TopicsExpress

The year 2014, broke my streak of consecutive Thanksgiving Day, celebrations. Or did it? Well to cut to the chase, no it didnt. While It may have broken my streak of consecutive, come-family-gather-around-the-table-lets-have-a-feast scenarios, I was still able to join with the world that does celebrate the event, in the thanks-giving portion of it. You see, I have been blessed beyond measure. Ive been blessed beyond what I deserve, even as I moved to a completely different planet that shares the same language, but not really the same language. God didnt even hit the pause button on his blessings, as I transitioned to a new life here. Rather, his work began on the first day I landed! I still miss a lot of things Ive left behind to be here, but God has shown, that he can use anyone to, do anything he wants, in any place! And so Im thankful. For friends, old and new! Thanks for your friendship, support, love and kindness, teamwork. Whether you knew it or not, you were the hands and feet of Jesus to me. Regardless of the size of the act! To old friends: Man! God used you, to lift me up, when I was going through some really tempestuous times of my life! I love you all! To new friends: Thank you for your warmth and love in welcoming me and making me feel accepted in a whole new world! Im also thankful for family! My flesh and blood family and the families who adopted me into their own, while I lived in the places Ive lived. Without you folks, your prayers, love, advice, time, help, rides, understanding, gee! Where would I be? Lastly, hey God, youre the one who orchestrated all of this! Thanks for setting the fire under me that keeps getting me up from stagnant faith and pursuing selfless living for your name. One would think that not thinking about self, would result in a pretty miserable individual! But God has shown me, that the more I abandon myself, and pursue his will, the sweeter my life gets, even AMIDST, the adversities! Thats the crazy thing. Im not stopping, for Ive had a taste of how great God is, and I want more. And you know what? Turns out I did have some semblance of a Thanksgiving feast, after all! A church member here, turned up at my house with a cultural dish, right on the eve of Thanksgiving!! And IF that wasnt enough! Some new Brit friends from my job (another reason to be grateful!), took me to a Five Guys chain here, and I ate burgers, American style! and when they realized that its Thanksgiving in America, they all bellowed HAPPY THANKSGIVING, at me! haha Gods ways are soooo beyond ours. Forever grateful that this is so. Hope that all were able to have both the physical and spiritual meal of thanksgiving, with their loved ones! God bless you all!
