The year in review as short as I can make it: A long term goal I set in motion prior to 2014 I accomplished in May when I walked across the stage to obtain my degree! One the most trying moments this year was losing my grandfather in September. Although hes gone in the flesh, his spirit is forever with me and my family! Learned a few things about others as well as myself that I will take with me in years to come in which I will grow from. I received a 5k scholarship from my job for Social Work Excellence to further my education. I had some serious trying moments that helped me to see the bigger picture and one of those things was to put me first! Ive also mentored a Youth this year who was facing some serious demons and wanted to end it all but I happy to say, shes doing much better now and although she still has ways to go, she knows suicide is not the answer. I thank the man above for allowing me to allow her to see the bigger picture too! Towards the end of the year, I received and accepted a new job, my first day will be Monday, January 5th, 2015. I say all this to say, we all face challenges and fight battles others will never know nor understand while trying to find balance with the good things going on. Its easy to say dont focus all your attention on the negative, especially when the person giving the advice isnt the one experiencing it (although we know they mean well), its just hard not to when it something you face everyday that you cant run from. So instead of running, I made the choice to move pass it and go with a change of environment. You can be a great individual with great intentions but trust and believe there will be that someone to attempt to block your blessings and give you hell! Im telling you, dont give up, be smarter than them, its like checkers to chess! What the man above has for you, will be for you and NO ONE can stop it! Cry if you need to, scream if you need to but dont lose focus on who you are, your purpose and where your life is going. There is a great reward awaiting you so move forward and let nothing hold you back! Welcome 2k5 .. Im READY!
