The yesterday’s tag of war that was evident among our leaders in Bomet County in the presence of our D.P and some visitors who ware from Tanzania, demonstrated poor leadership, lack of integrity and lack of self control among our leaders. Under Article 75 of our Constitution, it is established the provision that govern the conduct of any state officer whether in public life, official life, private life or while in association with other persons. This was not the case, actually it was sad to see our elected leaders insulting one another, fighting and using improper and unacceptable words before the media, invited guests and the general public as well. The question is, how can an elected leader insult a fellow colleague in such an occasion? It’s a bad example to the general public which must be condemned. Article 10 of our constitution further establishes the principles of governance and national values for all state officers, public officers and all persons. Now this act, have demoted the dignity of the office of the D.P, the office of Bomet Governor and the office of the leader of majority in the N.A. It’s an act of shame which should not be tolerated, accepted and entertained within any civilized society like Kenya. Our leaders must learn to be patience, kind and obedient in order to avoid scenarios like the recent Migori saga which is still under investigation since, leaders are elected to provide good leadership and if they fail, then the electorates’ too follow suit. #just a legal opinion#
