TheStonesWouldCheer! November 11, 2013 Key Passage Jesus rode along the road toward Jerusalem. The followers spread their coats on the road before Jesus. Jesus was coming close to Jerusalem. He was already near the bottom of the Mount of Olives. The whole group of followers were happy. They were very excited and praised God. They thanked God for all the powerful things they had seen. They said, Welcome! God bless the king that comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory to God! Some of the Pharisees said to Jesus, Teacher, tell your followers not to say these things! But Jesus answered, I tell you, these things must be said. If my followers dont say these things, then these rocks will say them. — Luke 19:36-40 ERV (Read Full Text) Key Thought Isnt it sad that people still get upset when they think that folks are too exuberant over the presence of Jesus? Even worse, family members of those who come to Christ for salvation often criticize these new Christians for believing great things about Jesus. Little do they know that creation shouts his praise and that the angels of heaven shout out his glory. Lets not let anyone or anything shame us into silence about our glorious Savior. Prayer Father, your Son is marvelous, glorious, gracious, and precious to me. I want the world to know that he is not only my Savior, but also the Savior of all people. Give me wisdom to know how best to communicate this truth in each situation in which I find myself. However, dear Father, may my spoken admiration for your Son and my lifes witness to his grace never be withheld because Im afraid of what others may think of me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Related Scriptures The person that wants to save his life will lose it. And every person that gives his life for me will save it. It is worth nothing for a person to have the whole world, if he himself is destroyed or lost. If any person is ashamed of me and my teaching, then I will be ashamed of that person. I will be ashamed of that person at the time I come with my glory and with the glory of the Father and the holy angels. I tell you the truth. Some of you people standing here will see the kingdom of God before you die. — Luke 9:24-27 That is why I want you to remember the gift God gave you. God gave you that gift when I put my hands on you. Now I want you to use that gift and let it grow more and more, like a small flame grows into a fire. The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. He is our source of power and love and self control. So dont be ashamed to tell people about our Lord {Jesus}. And dont be ashamed of me—I am in prison for the Lord. But suffer with me for the Good News. God gives us the strength to do that. — 2 Timothy 1:6-8 Christ obeyed God, so God raised Christ to the most important place. God made the name of Christ greater than every other name. God did this because he wants every person to bow for the name of Jesus. Every person in heaven, on the earth, and under the earth will bow. Every person will confess (say), Jesus Christ is Lord (Master). When they say this, it will bring glory to God the Father. — Philippians 2:9-11 Share on Facebook | Share on Twitter Devotional provided by Heartlight ® © 1996-2013. All rights reserved.
