Thea Foundation Scholarships!!! Get more information here: theafoundation.org/scholarships/ Founded in 2002, Thea’s Scholarship Program is the longest running program the Foundation offers. Originally awarded in the Visual Arts category to high school seniors graduating from North Little Rock High School, Thea Kay Leopoulos’s alma mater, Thea Scholarships have grown in quantity as well as coverage. Today, Thea annually awards $80,000 across six scholarship categories (see top left margin) to thirty graduating seniors from all corners of the state. In eleven years, Thea has distributed $2.5 million in scholarships to 225 students gifted in the arts. Judged by college-level faculty and/or practicing professionals, Thea’s scholarship competitions are unique in that they are remarkably inclusive. They are open to students who attend public, private, charter, and home schools and those who have completed their GED. Students are not required to provide their GPAs or test scores, or intent to major in the arts. Furthermore, the Thea Foundation has partnered with over twenty institutions of higher education that commit to match or even exceed our scholarship funds should a recipient choose to attend one of the schools. On average, for every dollar Thea awards in scholarships, an Education Partner matches at three dollars. Our scholarship program’s framework is designed completely around one simple but poignant motivation: to reward hardworking students and to inspire them to be confident and ambitious.
