Their have been a lot of controversies surrounding the celebration of halloween. Let me start by saying that halloween is not devilish but rather its a western christian celebration of the saints(hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. The traditional focus of all hallows eve revolves around the theme of using humor and ridicule to confront the power of death. The word halloween is a contraction of all hallows evening also known as all halloween, all hallows eve or all saints eve. Halloween is a christianized feast initially influenced by celtic harvest festivals independently of samhain and has solely christian roots. Findings: 1. Halloween is not devilish 2. Halloween is a celtic celebration of harvest festival 3. Its a western christian celebration of the church martyrs. 4. It has solely christian root.
