Then And Now, Rimersburg Part 2: The Lincoln Theater All this - TopicsExpress

Then And Now, Rimersburg Part 2: The Lincoln Theater All this week well be taking a photographic stroll through the Rimersburg community, looking at how things appear today compared to the same buildings and places as they were seen long ago. Today, the photos will show prominent buildings on a prominent downtown block along Rimersburgs Main Street. The Lincoln Theater, which can be seen in the vintage photograph, is now home to Klingensmiths Drug Store. The buildings to the right of the Lincoln, which are no longer there as the lots are used for parking, were home to Barrs Furniture and Undertaking (far right) and John Barrs Barber Shop. The building to the immediate left of the theater, which is now home to Wandas Restaurant, was known at the time as the W.H. and J.C. Craig General Store. The vintage photos are courtesy of the Eccles-Lesher Memorial Library, and the glass photo negatives of former Rimersburg photographer Samuel Fischer (1875-1959). Keep checking back each day this week for additional photos. If you have any vintage photos of local landmarks, share then with us by bringing them to our office or email them to [email protected]. Were especially looking for photos from the Sligo, East Brady, Hawthorn, South Bethlehem and Mayport areas, as well as from New Bethlehem and any other communities in our region.
